I had the pleasure of meeting Deby at the Teddy Bear Artists Invitational Show in Binghamton, New York, in 2003. She is a beautiful person, both inside and out.
Her work captured my attention and my heart, as it is so whymsical and unique. Definately different from anything I had seen, which marked her as a true artist! Her imagination is boundless.
In the spring of 2004, Deby came to my shoppe for a personal appearance and signing. She brought a great selection of her bears and, also, wonderful pieces of her paper clay designs.
Being part of the bear world has been an enriching experience. I can't think of any other occupation in which you have the opportunity to know people like Deby. It is a warm and caring environment, unlike any other. In this atmosphere, creative minds are incouraged to grow....though I think Deby's mind is already stuffed with enough ideas to last a lifetime.
