The D.C.A.D Collectors Club began it's charter year in
June of 1999.
The membership year runs from June 1st through May
31st.
We will begin accepting new memberships and renewals
for the seventh club year 2005/2006 on June
1st, 2005.
Price of membership
New member fee for the U.S. is $40.00
Renewal fee for the U.S. is $35.00
Benefits For Membership Include:
1. Four newsletters each club year. Bringing the club
member news of what is happening
and what is new at D.C.A.D., as well as insight into
the art and inspiration behind designing
and collecting.
2. Certificates entitling you to purchase exclusive club pieces that are available to club
members only pieces.
3. Your club membership number is the number on
every club item you ever purchase.
4. Each year there are special club pieces for renewal
members, as well as new members.
5. Yearly contests with a chance to win a Deb Canham
original creation. There have been
several contests so far, each year giving away an
original piece made by Deb and several
pieces from D.C.A.D., both current and retired.
6. Free advertising, to buy or sell your Deb Canham
pieces, in the "Market" section of the
Doodle, the club newsletter.
7. Customized binder for your club newsletters.
8. Custom designed membership card.
9. Priority notification of upcoming items and events.
****Starting a collectors club was Deb's greatest desire,
since she first opened Deb Canham Artist
Designs in the USA. Her favorite benefit of having the
club is the special connection that exists between
herself and the members, and being able to design, for
just those collectors, pieces that are not
available on the open market. The feeling is contagious!
It is exciting, when we are able to help someone
find a piece they have been looking for. It is especially
rewarding when Deb is able to present certain
pieces as prizes that the member would not have
otherwise been able to acquire.

NEWS FLASH!!!
The new club year has exciting events coming up.
The second "Club Canham will be held in the fall. Members
will recieve more information in the next Doodle.
Club pieces for 2005/2006 will be available at any time
during the year. This way, the collector can choose when
they wish to recieve them. They will be available for that
"special occasion"!
"B" Club Members will be eligible for the "Paws For
Thought" piece, which will be in a different color
combination for this year.

Deb was thrilled that two of the 2000 club bears were selected as nominations for the 2000
TOBY(tm)
AWARDS presented by TEDDY BEAR AND FRIENDS magazine. Binker, the first Club Exclusive, and Holiday Santa, the third Club Exclusive, were both
nominated. Binker in the Dressed Bear Under 12"-Manufactured Category, and Holiday Santa in the
Undressed Bear Under 12"-Manufactured Category.
Binker was the first club piece~EVER~so he holds a special place in our hearts. Each club bear is 3" tall,
mohair and fully jointed. Binker was available to charter members from June 1999 til June 2000.
Santa on Holiday was available to club members from Novenber 1999 til June 2000. Harvey was available
from March 2000 til June 2000. These club pieces were first year pieces and are no longer available.
Binker was the focus of the first club event~Canp Canham! Deb had alot of fun with the Binkers, who were
lucky enough to attend camp. Each Binker came home with his very own "Merbear" named Mrytle. She is a
wonderful mermaid and one can only guess how Binker found her! Only 200 Binkers went to Camp Canham,
so she is quite a limited edition.
We hope there is a camp again for 2001.

Deb's Keeping Control Hat
As you can see, the bears had a lovely holiday! They swam, went horseback riding, had a helicopter ride,
and Deb made sure they wrote home. She only had to put on her flamingo hat to have total control. When the
Binkers saw that hat....they knew Deb meant business! Thus, 200 little bears took pen in hand and wrote
the most wonderfully funny letters of their adventures. Camp was definately good for them!!
I have tried to talk Deb into letting our husbands come
along with the bears this year. Think how nice it would be to have them learn "British Charm"! But, Deb
says "her" Richard is too busy to teach all of them! Maybe next year!!
